Touch Board: Interactivity Everywhere.

All these years you have seen many new technology is coming up and some are really cool. You have seen touch screen phones, touch screen television and many other touch devices, but here a team of people from UK have developed something that is going to chance the entire hardware industry upside down I hope. london-based design studio bare conductive have developed the ‘touch board’, a tool capable of transforming everyday objects into interactive and responsive artifacts. the device uses capacitive sensing to turn any conductive material into an interface. light switches can be painted on the wall with electrically conductive paint and can also be used to create distance sensors which work from up to 20cm away. based off the arduino leonardo, it can be programmed in the arduino IDE, works with most shields and also act as an HID.
the ‘touch boards’ are pre-programmed to turn touch into sound by simply connecting to a speaker and plugging in a micro USB cable. interaction with any one of the electrodes causes the MP3/MIDI player to play the associated track from the inserted microSD card. changing the sound is as simple as replacing the card.
the project is currently seeking funding on kickstarter. to learn more about the project, see here. Since I am not too good at explaining these thing here is the video of the project.
