Snapchat have introduced ghost captcha to prevent the creation of fake accounts to exploit the "Find friends" feature. These fake accounts are basically created by bots. So this feature make sure that every snapchat account is crated by a human being.
On the human verification screen there will be 9 photos, in some images there are ghosts as you can see in the image below. You just have to select the images in which ghosts are peeping out. This is the ghost captchas. This may be called as ghost protocol. Awesome. Isn't it?
No absolutely not. Steven Hickson has already written software that circumvents the anti-bot feature. His technique simply finds the best matches between Snapchat's sample pictures and a reference image. It's not flawless, but it's still accurate -- no mean feat for something that took less than an hour to program.
