Ever since the Wii’s motion-based controls re-established Nintendo as a gaming powerhouse back in 2006, video game designers have been rethinking the way we interact with our systems.

Now, a new hack of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and an electronic keyboard takes things to an extreme, letting you control the classic fighting video game Tekken by playing the piano. The project is clearly a labor of love, having taken its creator a full semester to assemble.

The piano sends a MIDI signal to an Arduino microcontroller, which, in turn, sends it to the circuit board of an arcade stick. The result is a fighting game controlled by tickling the ivories. And as Boing Boing points out, the creator (who goes only by the name Mc Cool) actually managed to win the round captured for posterity on his Vimeo page.

Heyho, This is the final product of my project for interaction design. Took the whole semester, to get this to work but it was worth it. How it works: The piano sends a Midi-Signal, which is transferred to an arduino. According to the signals, the arduino triggers transistors, which then trigger inputs on a paewang PCB (This is the PCB of an arcadestick). The paewang is connected to an Xbox360 (you can also use it on PS3).

Spy Agencies like NSA Probe Angry Birds and Other Apps for a Personal Data

Are they angry birds are spying birds. 

Angry birds is one of the top most smartphone games played across the world. It has large number of players, at least 70% of smartphone users playing Angry birds. What if it leaks your personal data to NSA. 

According to the documents leaked by Edward Snowden, that the national security agency and GCHQ, have been working to develop ways to access personal data through so called 'leaky Apps' like Angry Birds, apparently transmit your personal information over the internet insecurely. 

So, what kind of data? It can include very personal and information. According to the Guardian, "users’ most sensitive information such as sexual orientation – and one app recorded in the material even sends specific sexual preferences such as whether or not the user may be a swinger."

When a smartphone user uploads a photo to social media like Facebook and Twitter these apps may provide data about your phone types as well as your location.

They have a lot of information about us since our social media profile publish dates including where we live, marital status, sexual orientation, education and information about our families and friends. This is what NSA can collect via these leaky apps.

According to the documents by Snowden, personal information is also collected by advertising agencies that serve ads on mobile devices. An advertising firm that has partnered with Angry birds maker Rovio for certain edition of games to get particularly rich informations. 

Rovio VP of marketing and communication said that  "Rovio doesn't have any previous knowledge of this matter, and have not been aware of such activity in 3rd party advertising networks. Nor do we have any involvement with the organizations you mentioned."

GCHQ analytics used the Google Maps to collect the location data. It means that anyone using Google Maps on a smartphone is working in support of this system. Android smartphone users may be at higher risk from this kind of data collection. While IOS often allows user to disallow apps from accessing their personal informations like photos and location. Android users have to agree all permissions I order to download an app. 

But what Rovio said was. 

“The alleged surveillance may be conducted through third party advertising networks used by millions of commercial websites and mobile applications across all industries,” the company said. “If advertising networks are indeed targeted, it would appear that no internet-enabled device that visits ad-enabled websites or uses ad-enabled applications is immune to such surveillance. Rovio does not allow any third party network to use or hand over personal end-user data from Rovio’s apps.”

Peter Clatworthy Buys XBox One Photo on eBay For His Son

When Peter Clatworthy paid nearly $750 for an XBox One from an eBay seller, he expected to get the actual console.

Instead, he just got a photo of it, with a snarky "Thank you for your purchase written on the back."

It wasn’t even a good picture. Just a box cover printed on an old ink jet printer with nothing but magenta left in its cartridge, Dumb As A Blog reported.

Clatworthy, 19, of Bilbrough, UK, who intended to give the XBox One to his four-year-old son for Christmas, admits he was conned, because the listing clearly stated it was a photo of an XBox One Day One edition console. However, he decided to buy it since the item was listed in eBay's video games and consoles category.

"It said 'photo' and I was in two minds, but I looked at the description and the fact it was in the right category made me think it was genuine," he told the Nottingham Post. "I looked at the seller's feedback and there was nothing negative. I bought it there and then because I thought it was a good deal. It's obvious now I've been conned out of my money."

Although eBay has promised to take action against the seller because misleading listings are not allowed, it may not help him because the Xbox One is reportedly sold out in the UK, SWNS reported.

One saving grace: Clatworthy says his mistake has provided some Christmas cheer to his friends and family at his expense.

"I told my brother and he was crying with laughter, so were all of my mates, it is quite embarrassing," he said, according to the Metro. "Even my mum said I was a bit stupid considering it said it was a photo on the listing."

Super Mario Bros: The Movie Has A Comic Book Sequel

Anybody who’s been a fan of the Super Mario Bros. franchise will know and have probably seen Super Mario Bros: The Movie starring Bob Hoskins – although Dustin Hoffman was originally interested in playing the part.
